Like other young players in recent days, in San Antonio, Washington and Atlanta or even Chicago, Chris Duarte saw his “team option” for the 2023/2024 season being activated by the Pacers, tells us ESPN.
The rear / winger is therefore now under contract in Indiana for two more seasons and the last, in 2024/2025, will also be subject to an option that the leaders can activate in a year.
This is not a surprise since Chris Duarte had a good first campaign, averaging 13.1 points. Selected to the Second All-Rookie Team, he missed several games late in the season with a foot injury, but he represents the future of the franchise with Tyrese Haliburton and rookie Bennedict Mathurin.
Unsurprisingly, the Pacers have also decided to activate the clauses of Tyrese Haliburton, Isaiah Jackson and Aaron Nesmith For Jackson, it will be a third year. For Haliburton and Nesmith, it will be a 4th year. Then, they will be free agent protected if their franchise offers them a “qualifying offer”. See you in July 2024.
