Things get even more complicated in group B, since Bosnia and Herzegovina offered the scalp of Slovenia (97-93), for their second success in three outings.
And it was not Jusuf Nurkic (12 points, 9 rebounds) who hurt the Slovenians the most, but rather outsiders Dzanan Musa (22 points 3/5 from afar, 5 rebounds and 5 assists) and John Roberson ( 23 points at 7/13 from afar), Bosnia and Herzegovina closing the match at 15/30 at 3-points!
The gap between the two teams never exceeded 8 points throughout the match, Bosnia returning in the last two minutes with only a two-point lead (91-89). Edin Atic then scored a decisive layup (93-89) but Goran Dragic (20 points) answered, before the game was played on the throw line.
And so it was Bosnia and Herzegovina who came away with a precious victory, while Luka Doncic, who never ceased to hold his right wrist, finished the match with 16 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 interceptions, but with 5 stray balls and above all an ugly 0/8 from afar, Slovenia finishing at 10/32 in the field.
This is also the first defeat of Luka Doncic in a EuroBasket, since he had won the nine meetings of the previous edition, and the first two of this one.
With this second victory, Bosnia and Herzegovina in any case rises to the level of Slovenia (2-1), behind Germany (3-0) in group B. If France wins this evening against Hungary, there will therefore be three teams tied (2-1) and Lithuania (0-3) will be in great danger of not getting out of the pools…
