We now know what caused Bronny James’ cardiac arrest during summer training on the USC campus: a congenital malformation that can, however, be treated.
There is therefore hope that the son of LeBron James, 18, can resume the thread of his career, he who was aiming for the 2024 Draft in the NBA. But if Andy Enfield is reassuring like everyone else, he also remains cautious.
“The good news is that he is doing very well at the moment and going to class. And we all love it”explained the USC coach, interviewed by ESPN. “I think everyone is hoping Bronny comes back on the pitch. We just have to be patient and take it step by step.”
Patience is therefore essential, USC not being able to authorize Bronny James to return to the field without the certainty that the malformation which caused his first cardiac arrest will not cause a second.
“Our goal is to support Bronny in any way we can, academically and athletically, and to be patient with how his comeback progresses.”concluded Andy Enfield.
As the university had been with Vincent Iwuchukwu, also the victim of a cardiac arrest last year, and who had to wait six months to be able to find the floors in the NCAA.
