The Nets in negotiations to play a preseason game in Israel?

We are fighting all over the world to host NBA games. Melbourne would like to organize a pre-season game, to take advantage of the “golden age” of basketball in Australia.

According to YNet, it also negotiates between Maccabi Tel Aviv and the Brooklyn Nets. If talks are successful, the New York franchise could play a preseason game in Tel Aviv in October. It would be the first meeting between an NBA team and a Euroleague team since 2016, when the Thunder faced Real Madrid and FC Barcelona.

Above all, it would be the first time that the NBA has returned to Israel since 1984, when the Phoenix Suns and New Jersey Nets already played two games each in Tel Aviv, against Hapoel and Maccabi. It should also be remembered that the first match of an NBA franchise against a club outside the league took place in Israel. In 1978, the Washington Bullets, reigning champions, lost (98-97) to Maccabi Tel Aviv, in Tel Aviv.

Nevertheless, according to NetsDailythis rumor about a Nets preseason game in Tel Aviv is “inaccurate”.
