The Nets dive again in Portland

The Nets are in trouble, and that’s saying something…

After losing by one point, in overtime, to Miami (96-95), they made a trip across the North American continent to reach snowy Oregon, and the Brooklyn troop once again inclined. And, again, by breaking down at the end of the match, conceding a fatal 8-2.

“I'm not going to lie to you and tell you that the atmosphere is good in the locker room. We are clearly marked by all these defeats, but we must remain positive”proclaims Nic Claxton in the New York Post. “I know we had to take two [sur la dernière action]I don’t know how he could have had such a boulevard towards the circle…”

At +4 a minute and a half from the end of the match, having been up to 11 points ahead at the end of the third quarter, the Nets actually bit the (frozen) dust of Portland last night, with a killer shot by Anfernee Simons at the buzzer (105-103).

“It’s an accumulation of actions”adds Jacque Vaughn. “They managed to get to the circle 36 times, with 16 second chance points. These are actions that happened in the first, second, third and fourth quarter. We wanted [bel et bien] take a double take on Grant or Simons. We must salute Simons who made a good move and knew how to finish it in the circle. »

In a real vicious spiral of nine losses in their last ten games, and even 14 defeats in their last 17 games if we broaden the focus further, the Nets are simply diving. With a nice hangover after two (humiliating) defeats against the weak Blazers in January alone!

“Being swept away by Portland definitely leaves a bad taste in our mouths. We have to keep working”concludes Nic Claxton. “It hurts because they got beaten [toute la saison] and they beat us twice! It's really discouraging. But we have to stick together. We can't collapse. »
