The NBA breaks its record for attendance in halls and sold-out games

The Covid-19 pandemic is definitely in the rearview mirror and the NBA has just announced to have broken its attendance record in its halls, as well as its sold-out match record!

During this 2022/23 campaign, and before the “play-ins”, 22,234,502 fans attended the 1,230 matches of the season. This is a record, ahead of the 22,124,559 in the 2017/18 season. Logically, the number of fans present per match (18,077) is also a record, with a room occupancy rate of 97%.

With 791 sold-out games, the NBA again broke a record, the previous one being 760 in 2018/19.

According to ESPN figuresit is still the Bulls who bring together the most people at each game, with an average of 20,527 fans, but the United Center was not full this year, with an occupancy rate of 98.1%.

It is the Mavs who fill their room the most, with a total of 105.1% occupancy thanks to standing room at the American Airlines Center. The Hawks (104.%) are right behind, while the Bucks (101.1%), the Heat (100.4%), the Celtics (100%), the Cavaliers (100%), the Warriors (100%), the Suns (100%) and Jazz (100%) are also full.

Note that it is the Wizards (84.1%) who have the most difficulty filling their home room, ahead of the Thunder (85.3%) and the Pacers (87.3%).

As for the teams that attract the most away fans, it is the Warriors, Stephen Curry and his comrades having played to full houses (105.3%) all year. Just like the Lakers (100.5%).
