He is the anti-star par excellence and yet, Josh Hart is the player most used by Tom Thibodeau, and even in all these playoffs. To the point that he still hasn't come off the field against the Pacers! This is the first time since 2013 that a player has played the entirety of two games in a row in the playoffs. Hart succeeds another “iron man” of the playoffs, Jimmy Butler. This is the 4th time in these playoffs that Hart has not breathed for a single second. And since OG Anunoby could miss the entire end of the playoffs, we can expect it to happen again…
“We’re just a resilient group” explains Hart about this victory, acquired despite the injury-related outings of Jalen Brunson then OG Anunoby. “It’s something that starts with management, then Coach Thibodeau, then Jalen, and then the rest of the group. In the team, there is always this mentality of the next player to take over. Obviously, we would prefer to all be healthy, but when one player gets injured, another takes over, and we get more than we need from him. »
Knicks' best rebounder
Last night, the Knicks winger signed his 3rd double-double in a row with 19 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists! A new full match with remarkable skill: 8 out of 12 on shots. At 1m95, Hart is the best rebounder in his team, and the 4th in the NBA in these playoffs. His energy is contagious and his sense of sacrifice fits perfectly with Tom Thibodeau's basketball. It's also him who sends Isaiah Hartenstein to the dunk, or offers the 3-pointer which knocks out the Pacers to Donte DiVincenzo.
“It’s just a question of trust” he continuesabout this ability of the Knicks to plant shots that hurt. “We give ourselves so much, and we work so hard, that the confidence is there… I'm not saying that there aren't weaknesses in our game, but our confidence in each other helps to compensate for them. We trust each other, and that is the case with Donte. When he has the ball in his hands, I have confidence in him to do what we need. »
