The MVP of the night | Jimmy Butler’s heat stroke

Who better than Jimmy Butler to embody this slogan “Heat Culture” which hits the team jersey, but also the floor? While the Heat are on a series of nine matches in 18 days in eight different venues, the All-Star guard spoiled the Miami public with a performance of which he has the secret: 36 points at 12 of 19 on shots, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and even 3 blocks. “It feels good to play at home from time to time” likes Butler.

Brooklyn’s defense cracked in the 3rd quarter when Butler scored 11 of his 18 points in a row! All while putting on a show with this two-handed dunk on defense by taking the baseline, or this And-1 at zero degrees. Dennis Smith Jr’s provocations will not change anything. This Butler is untouchable!

“The very good option for us is to put the ball in Jimmy’s hands” quips Erik Spoelstra. “He was able to go to the circle and find his favorite positions.”

In the wake of Butler’s hot shot, the Heat had taken a 14-point lead, and we thought we wouldn’t see him again for the game. But the Nets were clingy, and Spoelstra was forced to put Butler back into play with five minutes remaining. Time for Butler to get his 35th and 36th points of the evening with a muscular drive, strong on his feet, finished with the board. “To win, you have to do the right thing” he explains about this gesture, which definitively repels the Nets, while Kevin Love calls the press to witness: “You can see that he has raised his level of play.”

On arrival, the Heat signed a 7th victory in a row last night. This hadn’t happened to him since December 2017 – January 2018, almost six years!
