Apathetic and overwhelmed defensively, Jalen Brunson was taken out in the middle of the third quarter. Last night’s trip to Oklahoma, for the end of their “road trip”, was therefore an opportunity for the Knicks to take their revenge. And that’s what Jalen Brunson did, with style: 34 points and 9 assists!
Managing to shine despite the pressure from Lu Dort, the leader carried out a huge project, all in efficiency with a superb 14/20 in shooting. He also missed almost nothing inside the 3-point line since he finished 1/6 from afar, but 13/14 from 2-point. With a lot of complicated shots…
“It was a total collective effort. Julius (Randle) got us started very early in the game and that paved the way for me in the second half”explained Jalen Brunson. “I tried to stay aggressive and attack the defense and I was lucky that the shots fell tonight”.
At the end of the match, Jalen Brunson took advantage of the attention devoted to him to serve his comrades, in order to validate the gap and the victory. A real performance as a leader, and as a leader.
“I thought they played well for each other and did a number of good plays to get everyone started and create some quality shots” savored more generally Tom Thibodeau. “When you have this kind of balanced attack, it’s hard to focus on one guy in particular.”
