The MVP of the night | Jalen Brunson (much) too strong for the Wizards

With only 19.3 points on average over the last three matches and an ugly 0/12 at 3-pts, Jalen Brunson was not in great shape to finish the calendar year. His time in Washington gave him a breath of fresh air and numbers that were much more in line with his level.

Faced with an eye-catching Wizards and in particular Bilal Coulibaly who made efforts to contain him, the Knicks playmaker quickly showed his qualities, with 13 points in the first quarter. Absent in the second, he shone in the second half with 19 points in the third quarter then 14 in the last. It was he who equalized in the final seconds to send the two teams into overtime. The former Dallas player then adds 9 units in these five more minutes.

We do the math and it gives: 55 points at 18/31 in the shoot! His season record by far, without also forgetting 9 assists. “I read things and found a way to make an impact. There it was to score », he declares after the game won by the Knicks.

In addition to this figure, it was his decisive baskets and his free throws (16/17) which allowed New York to win. Jalen Brunson was decisive. “It's good, knowing that I haven't made many free throws this season. I was bad but I scored when it was necessary”he concludes, being harsh with himself regarding his 81% success in this exercise this year.
