The Mavericks remain unclear about their 10th draft pick

As he was protected Top 10, the Mavericks managed to keep their turn Draft 2023, since they inherited the 10th choice during the “lottery”. A lesser evil for the Texas franchise, which had “struggled” not to send its “pick” to the Knicks by using the “tanking” card (and recovering in passing… a $750,000 fine!).

Now, at the end of this disappointing 2022/23 season, because it has come to an end without playoffs, the time has come for the leaders of dallas to make good use of this 10th Draft choice, to strengthen their workforce and properly support a Luka Doncic who is certainly “happy” in Texas, but who could quickly become impatient if the collective results were not to improve drastically.

For now, insider Marc Stein reports in any case that the Mavericks still don’t know how to use their “pick”, because two options are available to them and neither of them is ruled out: keep it to draft a young talent, or transfer it (potentially with profiles like Tim Hardaway Jr, JaVale McGee and Davis Bertans…) to obtain a player who is already “NBA ready”.

About a month left Nico Harrisonthe GM of Dallas, to decide, but what is certain is that his priority for the summer will be to re-sign Kyrie Irving, who has reached the end of his contract.
