For the first of the 2023/24 season, the major five of the “week” takes into account all the matches played since the start of the season, since October 24.
Change this season: as the All-NBA Teams eliminate the notion of “positions”, we are doing the same with our five major of the week, even if we will try as much as possible to maintain general consistency.
And for this first, certain names stand out easily: that of Stephen Curry firstly, with his 5 victories in 7 matches, his decisive shots and his crazy skill (55% success including 49% at 3-points despite an enormous volume). That of Luka Doncic also, despite two recent less skillful outings.
With Boston’s perfect record and its great efficiency, Jayson Tatum also very logically has his place in the team, just like Nikola Jokicwho carries the Nuggets on his hand.
It was the last place that was complicated to assign. We could have included Donovan Mitchell or Kevin Durant for their individual performances, despite the difficult start to the season for the Cavs and the Suns, or even try a two-pivot team with Joel Embiid, who fits well into the collective desired by Nick Nurse. Finally, we choose to highlight our teammate Tyrese Maxeyvery good in a delicate context, since he must take over from James Harden following the melodrama created by the latter to obtain his transfer to the Clippers.
