For Kobe Bryant Week in Los Angeles, the Dodgers pulled out all the stops with a host of tributes. As the franchise kicks off a three-game series against the Tampa Bay Rays, spectators were treated to a Mamba Day-themed drone show at Dodger Stadium. Lakers show time on the court
For Saturday's game, the first 40,000 ticketed fans will receive a custom Showtime Lakers T-shirt featuring seven former Lakers, including Dodgers owner Magic Johnson. In addition, Kurt Rambis, Mychal Thompson, Michael Cooper, Byron Scott and AC Green will throw out the first pitch of the game. The retired Lakers will then gather to announce the traditional “It's Time For Dodger Baseball” over the microphone before the first pitch.
Finally, on Sunday, the first 40,000 ticketed fans will receive a Kobe Bryant-themed Dodgers jersey with the “Black Mamba” theme. Last season, Bryant’s baseball jersey was only available to those who purchased a ticket package and was not offered throughout the stadium as it is this year.
