Goodbye Amway Center, long live Kia Center! Inaugurated in 2010, the Magic arena changed its name, and the Orlando franchise entered into a naming agreement with the automobile manufacturer Kia, already sponsor of the All-Star Game.
THE partnership also includes the installation of electric vehicle charging stations, vehicle display and the creation of a Kia Terrace Welcome Lounge within the venue.
The fourth room to change its name
Near the venue, construction work is expected to begin in 2024 and include a new 3,500-seat concert hall, a hotel, housing, offices and retail.
The Magic are the 4th franchise to change the name of their room since the start of the year. In San Antonio, the Frost Bank Center replaced the AT&T Center. For their part, the Heat was forced, after the bankruptcy of FTX, to play at the Miami-Dade Arena, which later became the Kaseya Center. As for Jazz, it simply took back the initial name of its venue, the Delta Center.
