The Lakers have their eye on Josh Richardson

The Lakers’ awful start to the season in general, and Russell Westbrook in particular, is likely to push management to quickly make a trade. The Athletic gives the tracks studied this summer with first the Pacers to recover Buddy Hield, then the Hornets with Terry Rozier. Both options are stalled, but our colleagues report that the Lakers would still be interested in the profile of Terry Rozier. Even if it’s in exchange for Russell Westbrook, they already have everything they need with Dennis Schroder, Patrick Beverley and Kendrick Nunn.

The Athletic offers a 3rd track, and it leads to San Antonio. As Spurs are in the midst of a rebuild, their name had already come up to take charge of Westbrook’s final year of contract. The player targeted would be Josh Richardson, a former Heat swingman, with a “3-and-D” profile since his arrival at Spurs. Since the start of the season, he has shot nearly six times at 3-point per game, and with a superb percentage: 47%.

Whether Spurs are willing to take Westbrook’s contract and then part ways remains to be seen…
