The Lakers are getting phone calls again for Russell Westbrook…

With only two wins after eleven games, the Lakers are in crisis and their leaders may have to act quickly to prevent this 2022/23 season from ending again without participation in the play-in and/or playoffs.

If LeBron James seems untouchable in the Californian workforce, impossible to say the same for Russell Westbrook who, at almost 34, has been discovering a whole new role for two weeks.

This new role is that of 6th man and the performances of the “Brodie” off the bench are also rather convincing: 18.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and 7.1 assists on average (50% on shots, 43% at 3- pts, 80% on throws).

Hope Bradley Beal?

As a result, the popularity of the 2017 MVP is slowly but surely rising, so much so that some teams are starting to contact the “Purple & Gold” to discuss the availability of Russell Westbrook. It is in any case what the Bleacher Report reports.

Recall that the former point guard of the Thunder, Rockets and Wizards, whose salary amounts to 47.1 million dollars this season, will be out of contract next summer. What arouse a possible interest of franchises in search of flexibility on the financial level, within the framework of a “trade” against a cumbersome contract of several years…

For several days, we have also been talking about a “mystery” target in Los Angeles for such an exchange. For the Bleacher Report, it is Bradley Beal, who nevertheless extended to Washington last summer. Do the Lakers think the Wizards guard will seek his transfer (he has a clause allowing him to refuse any trade against his will) just months after signing a five-year, $251 million extension? If he does, an exchange with Russell Westbrook is indeed possible, even if it remains very hypothetical.

Moreover, still according to the Bleacher Report, the name ofAnthony Davis will not be included in any exchange. For now, at least.
