The Knicks will keep Jericho Sims

Unsurprisingly, the Knicks intend to keep jericho sims in their squad for next season. The franchise has a “team option” to part with it on August 20, but Hoopshype reports that management intends to guarantee his entire contract of $1.9m for 2023/24. Which means the Knicks will have 12 players under guaranteed contract, with the possibility of signing three more.

Logical when you remember that Sims has started 16 of his 52 games this season, to shoot 3.4 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. Taking over from a fragile Mitchell Robinson, Sims is an economical alternative.

58th choice of the Draft in 2021, Sims was initially committed via a “two-way contract”, before winning a contract over several seasons. Currently recovering from shoulder surgery, Sims has another year of contract, also unsecured, at $2.1 million.
