After the Sixers, it's the Knicks' turn to be sanctioned by the NBA for having played a player who was announced “out” before the match. This is Mitchell Robinson who made his big comeback on March 27 during the big victory against the Raptors. Initially, the staff announced that he was forfeited, and the NBA therefore fined the franchise $25,000.
Why isn't it $100,000 like the Sixers with the Embiid case? Because the Knicks, unlike the Sixers, are not repeat offenders, and the NBA sets the amount based on a franchise's liabilities.
Two years ago, the Heat received a similar fine following their game against OKC for not having “ communicated the exact status of the availability of several players » before the meeting. In response to the fine received, the Heat therefore decided to place all of its players on the injured list including the 14 players under contract as well as the two “two-way players” before the next match against the Spurs.
