Just under 18 months after Domantas Sabonis, it’s the turn of Chris Duarte to leave the Pacers for the Kings. He too arrives on a trade deal, and the Canadian winger is more than happy to reunite with his former teammate.
“Domas took me under his wing from day one” reveals Duarte. “When I arrived in Indiana, he served as my guide. That’s how it goes in the NBA: “Make sure you do this, make sure you do that”… I really appreciate him, he’s a great guy. I met his family. I could sit here and talk about him for hours. So, know it, we get along very well. »
Still, they only played half a season together but the two get along well on and off the pitch.
“We just had a good understanding, a good connection” continues Duarte. “We both speak Spanish, and that’s always helpful. We just had good mechanics in the game, and I know how to play with him. »
An asset for the Kings who therefore went to get it from the Pacers, in exchange for Draft choices. A great deal if Duarte regains the level of his rookie year, which he finished in the second best five rookie of the year.
