The Kings and Grizzlies on the trail of Draymond Green

If the Warriors punished Jordan Poole by transferring him to the Wizards, it is obviously a sign that they are preparing the ground for the extension of Draymond Green’s contract. The Golden State All-Star interior has never hid that he wants to play his entire career in the same franchise, and according to the Bleacher ReportGreen would like to link his destiny to that of Stephen Curry and therefore extend until 2026. We are thus talking about a contract of around 100 million over three years.

Free agent for the first time in his career, Green can also gauge his rating on the transfer market, and according to Mark Stein, two franchises would be ready to welcome him. First there are the Kings who have the necessary envelope to offer him a nice contract. Sacramento’s ambitions and the presence of Mike Brown, former Warriors assistant, are arguments of choice.

And then there is this rumor of an interest from the Grizzlies… Public enemy number 1 of Memphis, Green would however be on their shelves, and the leaders could afford a 3rd “Defensive Player Of The Year” after Jaren Jackson Jr and Marcus Smart. However, Stein said that interest in Green had already existed before Smart arrived, and perhaps the transfer concluded with the Wizards and the Celtics put an end to this option.
