The huge duel between Devin Booker (46 points) and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (40 points) for the Thunder

In an atmosphere worthy of the playoffs, the Thunder snatched a precious victory (124-120) against the Suns.

It had however started very badly for Oklahoma City, who will score two points in the first four minutes of the match and will therefore have to chase after the score almost the entire match. Thanks to a big address from afar, the players of Monty Williams thus seem to manage the meeting, even if Shai Gilgeous-Alexander multiplies the passages on the free throw line and keeps the Thunder in ambush.

Phoenix still has a ten-point lead at the start of the fourth quarter, but a monumental 18-2 will completely overturn the match! Suffocating in defense and skilful in attack, Aaron Wiggins, Lu Dort, Isaiah Joe and company completely shake up the Suns, who cannot stop the opposing momentum.

Devin Booker will try everything for everything at the end, but it’s too late and Oklahoma City therefore wins an essential success, to go back to 8th place in the Western Conference with an almost balanced balance sheet (35-36).

WHAT YOU MUST REMEMBER

– An 18-2 that changes everything. What a streak from the Thunder! Going from 90-100 to 108-102 in the first half of the fourth quarter, Mark Daigneault’s players stifled the Suns to regain control of the game thanks to the enormous activity of Aaron Wiggins, Lu Dort and Isaiah Joe, as well as the good passage of Josh Giddey.

– A playoff atmosphere. The Oklahoma City public was boiling hot, especially in this superb fourth quarter, in front of the recovery of their team then the way in which this young group managed to contain, with surprisingly much composure, the attempt to hold -up led by Devin Booker. It must be said that it has been three years since there were more games at stake in March on the Oklahoma side.

– A duel between Devin Booker and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander at the top. Mainly indirect duel but very interesting style opposition, between a Devin Booker in puncher mode, from a distance, at mid-distance or in the attack of the circle, and a more feline Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to get closer to the circle and cause faults .

TOPS/FLOPS

✅ Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. It was his teammates who came out in the 18-2 to turn the game around, but it was the All-Star, with his consistent aggression, that kept his team in the game the whole time. 40 points at 12/24 shooting, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the end.

✅ Devin Booker. While waiting for Kevin Durant, and with a Deandre Ayton also in the infirmary, the back did everything he could to try to snatch victory. 46 points at 18/28 shooting.

✅ Aaron Wiggins. It would take the whole group that managed this saving 18-2, but Aaron Wiggins is the one who embodied this revolt in Oklahoma City, which extinguished Phoenix a few minutes to overturn the match.

⛔ Damion Lee As for Aaron Wiggins, it would be necessary to put the whole group of the Suns who suffered this 18-2 which changed the dynamics of the match, but it is undoubtedly the brother-in-law of Stephen Curry who most symbolized the difficulties of Phoenix during this dreadful passage.
