The Hornets receive a lot of offers for the 2nd choice of the Draft

Behind the first choice of the Draft promised to Victor Wembanyama, doubt still reigns over the path that Charlotte will take with her second choice. The North Carolina franchise has narrowed down its selection to two players, Scoot Henderson and Brandon Miller, who performed a final workout on Monday under the gaze of Hornets leaders, including Michael Jordan. It is His Highness, a few days from validating the sale of the franchise, who should have the last word.

Except that there remains a third and last option, to exchange this choice against a big counterpart. For several days, we have been talking about an interest from the Pelicans for Scoot Henderson, and listening to Mitch Kupchak, the GM of the franchise, there would be no shortage of proposals! As a result, indecision still reigns a few hours before the big meeting…

“You would be surprised at the number of phone calls and players that would be available”

“I think we’ll keep the 2nd pick, but I’m not going to rule out the possibility that we’ll trade him,” said Kupchak yesterday. “He’s a very coveted pick in our league right now. You’d be surprised how many phone calls and players I think would be available. Until the last minute we will listen, but for now I think the choice will be pick number 2”.

The leader has made sure to remain as enigmatic as possible on the player that Charlotte would prefer to recover between Scoot Henderson and Brandon Miller. On the other hand, he made the same outing as at the end of the season, ensuring that at the stage where the Hornets are, the franchise was going to seek the best player available and not necessarily the player best adapting to the forces in current presence. Which may imply that the position of Scoot Henderson (playmaker like LaMelo Ball) is not a brake. On another side, Adrian Wojnarowski revealed that the front office had been particularly impressed by Brandon Miller during his second workout… and the latter, very relaxed, even allowed himself to tease Michael Jordan.

Finally, Mitch Kupchak also clarified that his franchise had set a deadline for receiving offers. “There will be no more activity, and nothing will happen when we are 1:15 from the Draft”.
