The Hornets lose Nick Richards for at least two weeks

Charlotte never stops struggling with her pivots! While Mark Williams has still not played a single minute this season, Nick Richards was injured during the first game of the double confrontation between the Hornets and the Celtics this weekend. The verdict fell on Tuesday and the 26-year-old center is suffering from fracture of the cartilage of the first right ribthe one located under the collarbone.

A complex injury that will require at least two weeks of rest. The franchise press release specifies that his condition will then be re-evaluated every two weeks. For now, the best-case scenario is that Nick Richards will miss a minimum of seven games, with his next test scheduled for around November 17.

To compensate, new Hornets coach Charles Lee sometimes used Grant Williams at station 5 to complete the veteran's relays Taj Gibson and the French interior Moussa Diabaté. Signed in “two-way contract”the latter in any case has a good card to play at the start of the season.

Two-way contract : Designed to create a new bridge between the NBA and the G-League, this type of contract allows each team to secure the services of two or three additional players, to develop them mainly in their affiliated development league franchise but also up to 50 matches in the NBA.
