The Hornets get their hands on one of the best scorers in the G-League

With the successive injuries to Tre Mann and LaMelo Ball who were added to a long list of injuries (Miles Bridges, Mark Williams, Grant Williams and DaQuan Jeffries), the Hornets will compensate by going to the G-League. According to ESPNthe North Carolina franchise will indeed sign Isaiah Wong from the Salt Lake City Stars.

The 23-year-old fullback will be signed in “ two-way contract“, and to make room for him, the Hornets have already officially thanked Jared Rhodentheir third “two-way contract” to date alongside KJ Simpson and Moussa Diabaté.

G-League Player of the Week

Selected in 55th position in the 2023 Draft by the Pacers, Isaiah Wong only played one game in the NBA during his rookie season before joining the G-League. Moved from the Mad Ants to the Salt Lake City Star during the offseason, he has been one of the top scorers in the G-League since the restart, with an average of 24.1 points, 41% 3-point success in 4.9 attempts, 3.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists over eight games.

Elected Player of The Week, the former member of Miami (NCAA) comes out of two cards at 35 and 41 points and should therefore benefit from a great opportunity to show himself on the upper level.

Two-way contract : Designed to create a new bridge between the NBA and the G-League, this type of contract allows each team to secure the services of two or three additional players, to develop them mainly in their affiliated development league franchise but also up to 50 matches in the NBA.
