Still no Jimmy Butler with Miami and, despite several major absentees (Dyson Daniels, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Onyeka Okongwu), the Hawks took the opportunity to score a third victory in a row, in front of their home crowd (120-110).
A success marked with the seal of Jalen Johnson (28 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists) and De'Andre Hunter (26 points), while Trae Young (11 points, 15 assists) took care of running the store because of his clumsiness and that Garrison Mathews (18 points) was valuable coming off the bench for Atlanta. As is often the case this season, it is Tyler Herro (28 points, 10 assists, 7 rebounds) who carried the hopes of the Heat.
This match, it was the Hawks who generally dominated, taking control in the first quarter and never letting go until the end. Even if, in the last five minutes, Miami managed to come back to a point under the leadership of their duo Tyler Herro – Bam Adebayo. It was therefore necessary for De'Andre Hunter then Trae Young, on free throws, and especially Jalen Johnson, on 3-pointers, to put it back to definitively push back the Florida players.
Before that, it was the same Jalen Johnson who was responsible for putting Atlanta on the right track. Like him, Quin Snyder's men made little hassle in shooting, relying on a strong and efficient team to do so. The substitutes, and the pair De'Andre Hunter – Garrison Mathews, particularly caused misery for the Heat throughout the afternoon with their multiple 3-point successes.
