The Hawks bring down the Thunder at the end of the suspense!

The Hawks almost ruined everything in the last moments of the match but they ended up securing the essential by winning against OKC, the team in good shape of the moment, winners in a few days of the Nuggets, the Wolves and the Celtics. Faced with a back-to-back formation, Atlanta was able to take its opponent by the throat from the start with an 11-0 concluded by Trae Young.

Bogdan Bogdanovic took over with three 3-point baskets which put the locals in the best position (36-20). Then it was Jalen Johnson's turn to shine in the second quarter with some remarkable flights for 12 points scored over the period, actively contributing to maintaining the gap, at +17 at the break (76-59).

The Thunder's burst of pride

In the third quarter, it was Dejounte Murray who came out of the woodwork with 11 points scored. Alongside Trae Young, Bogdan Bogdanovic and Clint Capela, he seemed to lead Atlanta to a victory without trembling. At +13 at the start of the last act (116-103), the Hawks left at +16 less than three minutes from the end after a new festival from the Murray-Johnson pair punctuated by a basket from Clint Capela (137-121).

And then, everything almost collapsed. 3-pointers from Luguentz Dort, Jalen Williams and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander suddenly revived the Thunder. At the end of a 9-0 gone by SGA in a flash, OKC even had an opportunity to equalize three seconds from the end (141-138). Unfortunately for Isaiah Joe, and fortunately for the Hawks, the last attempt from the OKC back did not find the target, and Atlanta was able to celebrate a prestigious victory.

WHAT YOU MUST REMEMBER

– Atlanta likes to scare each other. Already in their previous match, the Hawks had already had a little scare against the Wizards by conceding a big gap at the end of the match to finally win 130-126. Same thing last night with a very big heat stroke on this 11-0 passed by the only Shai Gilgeous-Alexander who could have changed everything. Atlanta is doing better but the balance remains fragile.

– A Jalen Johnson record. Back from injury, the young winger is attacking 2024 with a bang since he had already shone against the Wizards and this time set a career record by finishing as his team's top scorer with 28 points. but also 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 interceptions.
