The Grizzlies extend their young players

Like other franchises in the league, the Grizzlies have extended a few younger players. The leaders have thus activated the contract options of Desmond Bane, Ziaire Williams and Santi Aldama for the 2023/2024 season.

A logical decision especially for the first two. Holder 76 times, Bane exploded last season, with 18.2 points on average at 43% success at 3-pts, becoming one of Ja Morant’s lieutenants.

Ziaire Williams, who is the colt of Bane, will start his second season in a few days, after an interesting first exercise, finishing with 8.1 points per game.

As for Aldama, his first experience in the league was more limited with 4.1 units per game, 32 games played in the NBA and a move to the G-League. Perhaps he will have a more important role in the coming weeks since Jaren Jackson Jr. will miss the start of the season.
