The Grizzlies celebrated Taylor Jenkins' big night

For the Grizzlies and Taylor Jenkinsthe victory against the Sixers is not only a way to bounce back after the setback against the Nuggets. It's also a great moment for the franchise because the coach won his 215th victory on the Memphis bench. Nobody did better, Lionel Hollins having stopped at 214 successes.

The players celebrated in the locker room before the press conference by throwing water at their coach. If Scotty Pippen Jr. opted for Gatorade, Desmond Bane didn't want to waste his smoothie. “That wouldn’t have been very respectful”, he smiles speaking of the one he considers to be “the best coach in Grizzlies history”.

If most of the players on the current squad have only known Taylor Jenkins as a coach, Luke Kennard has more experience and can therefore compare with the other technicians he has worked with.

“I’m there every day and he makes the effort to come and talk to each of the players. He takes them aside. We talk in his office, often one-on-one”says the shooter. “I hope my players know that I have their back. We are together. I'm going to fight tooth and nail for his guys.”adds the coach.

And the record in all this? “It’s an incredible honor to be in the company of so many great coaches who were there before me,” he replies. “I always talk about the strong responsibility of being the coach of this franchise. It's a blessing to be in this position, to be able to do what I love every day, to have players who accept your leadership, your instructions, who agree to be coached. »
