It’s been more than a week and a half since the 2022/23 season started, and it’s time to get back to our habits, with the now traditional “major five of the week”.
As in past seasons, we are following the format of the All-NBA Teams, with two players from the “backcourt”, two from the “frontcourt” and a pivot. And for this first five of the season, we start from last Monday.
On the “backcourt” side, it is impossible to ignore Donovan Mitchelleffective as ever for his debut with Cleveland, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander proves on his side that he is indeed part of the elite when he is not in the infirmary. A youth accompanied by Keldon Johnsonleader of these surprising Spurs.
Also impossible not to choose Giannis Antetokounmpoperfect both individually and collectively.
It was at the pivotal position that it was the most difficult to choose, but even if he does not have the stats of Nikola Jokic or Joel Embiid, Brook Lopez is our choice as it displays its impact on the defense of Milwaukee.
