There are nicknames that remain in posterity like “Show Time”, the “Death Lineup” or even “His Airness”. In college basketball, the “Fab Five” is one of the most famous. This is the nickname given to the Michigan team in the early 1990s.
A team that left its mark on basketball as much through its play as through its style and attitude. But the Fab Five is a somewhat tragic sporting story. Fun, refreshing, but ultimately never successful.
