Last in, first out! Recruited by the Celtics in early April to make the 15th man and play two regular season games, Justin Champagnie will not have passed the milestone of August 1, the date on which Boston could still part with it at a lower cost.
Julian Champagnie’s brother had the opportunity to show off in the Summer League by averaging 12.8 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists on average over four games. But the result was obviously not enough in the eyes of the management of the C’s who therefore took the decision to sack him, if we are to believe The Athletic. For the past two seasons, he had been seen at the Raptors, regularly moving from the NBA (39 games played) to the G-League.
Boston now has 13 guaranteed contracts in its roster for 2023-2024 and therefore has the opportunity to add some more talent and experience to its group to arrive at 15 elements. Why not through the free agent market where there are still some good deals…
