The Cavaliers remain perfect by extricating themselves from the Nets' trap

After almost bringing down the Celtics in Boston, the Nets continued with another big challenge: the Cavaliers, the last undefeated team at the start of the season, in Cleveland…

And once again, Jordi Fernandez's team did not come far from creating the feat. However, we thought that Darius Garland and his teammates were going to do it again for Golden State. With their hyper-aggressive defense and their external success, the Cavaliers were already +15 (52-37) in the middle of the second quarter!

Except that Cleveland will experience a serious cold spell in the process, with a 33-5 for Brooklyn, straddling half-time, carried by the two Cams, Thomas and Johnson. On the Cavaliers side, it's a 2/17 shooting over the sequence.

Brooklyn was at +14 (68-82) towards the end of the third quarter and the Cavs' series seemed about to end. Except that we recognize a solid team by its ability to get out of these complicated situations. And Kenny Atkinson's group will tighten up the game, both in attack and defense, to turn the situation around.

Thanks in particular to the contribution of his replacements, Caris LeVert, Ty Jerome or Georges Niang, the Cavaliers will finish the match with a 15/20 shooting, to inexorably come back on their opponents, and win (105-100) .

WHAT TO REMEMBER

– Cleveland’s impressive “finish”. With their big crisis of skill from the second quarter, the Cavaliers had to find solutions to turn the game around. They came from the bench, notably with a precious Caris LeVert, and shots taken much closer to the circle. The Cavs thus finished the fourth quarter with 35 points at 14/18 shooting, without any successful 3-point shots in the last round…

– Another frustrating setback for Brooklyn. The Nets were not far from bringing down the Celtics then the Cavs, both times away. Unfortunately for them, the accounting result is two defeats…

– Cleveland, 12th team to start with an 11-0. The Cavaliers are still perfect, with an 11th victory in 11 outings at the start of the season. They are also only the 12th team in history to successfully start a campaign like this, the last being the Warriors of 2015/16, with 24 successes at the start.
