The Bulls create their own “Hall Of Fame”

How to revive a moribund franchise, which has not won a title in 25 years? Perhaps by creating a “Ring of Honor”, a sort of private Hall Of Fame. This is what the leaders of the Bulls announced, and they are imitating the Suns, who also have their own “Ring Of Honor”.

From January, the Chicago franchise planned several events for the induction of the first members of this “Ring Of Honor”, and it chose to honor at once, in one go, 13 personalities and the team of the 1995/96 season, which won 72 games in the regular season, before dominating the Sonics in the NBA finals.

A first ceremony on January 12 for the reception of the Warriors

Phil Jackson, Jerry Krause, Artis Gilmore, Jerry Sloan, Toni Kukoc, Bob Love, Chet Walker, Johnny “Red” Kerr, Tex Winter, Dick Klein, as well as Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman will be honored.

The festivities will begin on January 11 with a private gala at the United Center, then the next day, a ceremony is planned at halftime of the game against the Warriors. This will allow Steve Kerr to be integrated since he was part of the Bulls squad in 1996.

In his press releasethe franchise explains that the Ring Of Honor will be celebrated every two years, and that you must have worn the Bulls jersey for at least three years, and be retired for three seasons, to be eligible.
