It was already two years ago, Kevin Durant and Nike had promoted the KD15 via the release of a “Producer Pack”, containing several colors designed in homage to the musical producers appreciated by the player, from the Canadian Boi 1-da, to Cardo and 9th Wonder. This year for KD17, news spread quickly about a new series of signature shoes of the same genre, and producer “The Alchemist”, also known as “ALC” could be the first to be recognized, as these first official images suggest.
Mobb Deep, Nas…
Alan Maman, his real name, has made a reputation as an outstanding producer since the end of the 90s, with the showcase title “Im The King” produced for Royce Da 5'9, published on the video game GTA III released in 2001. Originally from Beverly Hills, he nevertheless forged an identity as a reference producer in New York hip hop of the 2000s, driven, among others, by his productions for the group Mobb Deep which also served as a showcase for him to work with many artists from Queens, such as the group Capone-N-Noreaga, Cormega, Nas, Big Noyd or the group Infamous Mobb to name a few. He then diversified his collaborations, even if he remained stamped “New York rap”. “ALC” even released three studio albums in collaboration with a multitude of artists who came to pose on its productions, a bit like the compilations released by DJ Khaled, but better.
We must believe that his musical touch did not leave Kevin Durant indifferent since the Suns player concocted a KD17 in his name. In the first images, we can see an upper worked between white, pink and purple with transparent TPU side reinforcements going up to the eyelets, on which finishes in neon green “Volt” are present, as if to highlight the “Swoosh” on the vamp. The “ALC Records” logo is clearly visible on the tongue, while the whole is based on a sole between beige and pearly white.
The KD17 release “The Alchemist” is expected on June 14 for $160.
