Terry Stotts and the Bucks is a long history. Before returning to Wisconsin this summer, the coach had indeed experienced two passages through Milwaukee. The first, as an assistant between 1998 and 2002. The second, this time at the helm of the team, between 2005 and 2007.
He now returns, with happiness, to support an inexperienced Adrian Griffin, who will live his first coaching experience.
“It’s quite special, and not only professionally, but also humanly,” he announces to JS Online. “It’s a great opportunity to come into such a situation, with a team that won and is aiming for the title, and in a city where I have a lot of good memories. Couldn’t ask for a better way to come back. »
Absent from the courts since 2021 and his departure from Portland, Stotts is not bouncing anywhere. The Bucks had the best record in the league this season, they were champions two years ago and they can count on a double MVP in Giannis Antetokounmpo. There are worse ways to find a job…
“It all starts with Giannis and his ability to create openings, with shooters around him. In each team, we look at the group and we try to get the most out of it. It’s a special team, which was, in my eyes, the best in the league this season. They certainly fell in the playoffs. Adrian Griffin has a good plan for this team and with other ideas, we’ll see where it takes us. »
