This is a series of four posts published by Ja Morant in story of his Instagram which stirred up the Tennessee police. The images, later deleted, were addressed to her parents and then her daughter and contained the following messages: “I love you mom”, “I love you dad”, “you are the best little girl”, and a “Bye “meaning that the Grizzlies point guard was about to leave social networks. But local law enforcement interpreted it another way, worrying about the player’s mental health and a possible suicide attempt.
To get to the bottom of this, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Communications Officer confirmed to ESPN that a police patrol had gone to Ja Morant’s home to check that all was well. Results of the investigation? ” He is fine “, assured the officer. “He’s just taking a break from social media.”
A choice hailed in stride by Kyrie Irving. The leader of the Mavericks thus explained the dangerousness of exposure to social networks… all during a live Instagram.
“Whatever your skin color, your creed or your religion, many of us need to be surrounded. We need this”, he thus explained. “We need to normalize spending time with family, to remove that veil of technology. Stop letting technology control your fucking mind. Stop letting that shit do this. Step out into the sun, reconnect to the earth. Learn what peace of mind means and pray to God”.
The anecdote has something to smile about even if it is not really reassuring on the merits, while Ja Morant is about to undoubtedly live his most difficult summer since his arrival in the NBA, with possibly heavy penalties for being appeared a second time in possession of a firearm during a live on social networks.
