Television | The “Winning Time” series already canceled!

Criticized by the main party who even demanded an apology for its representation of Jerry West, the series “Winning Time” broadcast on HBO had managed to pass the first season. But not the second since the final episode of the second season is also the last…

The creator of the series, Max Borenstein, himself confirmed this: “It’s not the ending we had in mind”, he confesses on X (formerly Twitter).

The fault is the audiences which have fallen sharply. From an average of 901,000 spectators for the first season, with a peak of 1.6 million for the last episode, the series recorded only 629,000 viewers for its second, which began in August.

However, Jeff Pearlman, the man behind the book Showtime: Magic, Kareem, Riley, and the Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty of the 1980s which the series is inspired by, warned last month. “The future of the series hangs in the balance. We need viewers”he wrote on X.

It was not enough and “Winning Time” will therefore not achieve the hat trick…
