Taj Gibson in Charlotte to mentor youth

Before (probably) moving towards a career in coaching, Taj Gibson is not yet finished with his playing career. ESPN reports, in fact, that the veteran was signed for one year, and 3.3 million dollars, by the Hornets.

At just 39 years old, the interior will therefore experience a 16th season in the league and, at Charlottehe will have more than ever a role of big brother, within one of the youngest teams in the NBA. Enough to best help LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller, Tidjane Salaün, Mark Williams, Tre Mann and others Nick Smith Jr, since Tom Thibodeau's favorite is one of the most listened to and respected “old hands” in the Big League.

Having spent last season with the Knicks and then the Pistons (1.7 points and 1.9 rebounds), after a stint with the Wizards where he already played a mentoring role, Taj Gibson will play under the orders of novice Charles Lee, who is simply… the same age as him. We imagine that his playing time will be very limited with the Hornets, since the time is right for developing young players in North Carolina.
