Symbolically, Udonis Haslem signs for the Miami Marlins

The MLB (Major League Baseball) continues to put the NBA in the spotlight in this back-to-school season 2023. After the Dodgers who celebrated their “Lakers Night” in the presence of Kobe Bryant’s daughters on Friday evening, it’s the turn of the Miami Marlins to pay tribute to a local legend: Udonis Haslem.

The 43-year-old interior, who has just officially announced his retirement from the courts, has indeed been signed by the Florida franchise for a symbolic one-day contract, just to be at the heart of the event during the “UD Night” scheduled for September 7 for the game between the Marlins and the Dodgers. An original way to distinguish a player who has defended the colors of the city for twenty seasons.

“I am very excited to sign my one day contract with the Marlins. For a city kid, it really is a dream come true, so thank you,” he said in the staging of a press conference where he was able to put on his new flocked tunic with his name and the number 40.

A special “UD” jersey in the colors of the Marlins will be offered to each fan present for the match. Udonis Haslem will also be able to take the opportunity to highlight his foundation, the “Udonis Haslem Foundation”, founded in 2009.
