Suns replacements shine

THE Suns were in difficulty at the start of the match against the Hawks, the fault of a weak defense and lost balls. To win, Frank Vogel's players were able to count on Devin Booker, author of three winning baskets in the last three minutes to definitively rule out Atlanta.

Before that, it was the substitutes who had shone. A Royce O'Neale with his 3-point baskets in the first half for example, then a Eric Gordonin the same style, after the break and in the last quarter.

There is also Bowl Bowlwhose basket behind the arc at the start of the fourth quarter did good, or even Drew Eubankswho took over from Jusuf Nurkic, who was hit in the face.

“Every match where we can have contribution from the bench is positive. They were excellent in this meeting”, assures Devin Booker. “Drew was incredible when Nurkic had to come out. Not forgetting Gordon and Royce. »

47 points and great shooting skills

Result: the Suns replacements scored 47 points at 71% shooting success, with details: 21 points for Eric Gordon, 14 for Royce O'Neale, 7 for Drew Eubanks and 5 for Bol Bol. Each player has a very positive +/-, between +13 and +21, and with its 47 points, the Phoenix bench dominated that of Atlanta, author of 26 units.

A performance noted by the coach and necessary in this second match in two days, the day after the victory against Philadelphia, and in the face of the discreet performances of Kevin Durant (19 points at 5/15 on the shoot) and Bradley Beal (12 points and 9 assists).

“This is undoubtedly the best performance from our bench of the season”summarizes Frank Vogel. “We've had some other really good matches already, but I can't praise these guys enough. I give them the match ball, collectively. »
