Strange but victorious return for Kevin Durant in Brooklyn

Eventually, Kevin Durant was entitled to his tribute video from the Nets, even if he had explained that he did not want it. The opportunity to be greeted by his former audience… before being booed on his first shots.

Feelings are therefore mixed in Brooklyn, while the Nets, who have to do without Ben Simmons, this time injured in the knee, get the best start by moving Jusuf Nurkic, to take the Suns from behind. Frank Vogel is forced to quickly call a time-out and his players quickly return to the match.

The Suns insisted on Jusuf Nurkic in the second quarter, the power of the Bosnian causing big problems for the Nets, but Mikal Bridges and company hung on at half-time (64-61).

It's in the third quarter that Brooklyn will explode. With Jusuf Nurkic at the center of the Phoenix attack, and an army of shooters at his side, the Suns scored 42 points in the period and took the lead (106-87).

Lonnie Walker IV and Cam Thomas try to bring Brooklyn back, and the Nets even come back to -10 (128-118) in the “money-time”. But 3-pointers from Eric Gordon and Devin Booker will shatter any hope of a hold-up (136-120).

WHAT YOU MUST REMEMBER

– Ambivalent feelings in Brooklyn. Kevin Durant was entitled to his tribute video, just before his presentation in the Suns' major five. Enough to be greeted by his former audience, before receiving a strange mix of applause and boos every time he touched the ball. At least at the start of the match.

– Jusuf Nurkic and the shooters. Simple but effective game plan in Phoenix with the “Bosnian Beast” who serves as a relay on two-man shots, and must then find the open shooters. Enough to generate insoluble problems for the Nets, with 35 assists for the Suns, including 32 for the major five!
