Steve Wojciechowski to lead Jazz’s G-League team

Passed by Duke as a student / player, Steve Wojciechowski only played basketball professionally for a year, in Poland, before finding Mike Krzyzewski, in an assistant role, from 1999 to 2014.

Particularly in charge of wingers and interiors at the Blue Devils, “Wojo” notably helped Shane Battier, Shelden Williams, Carlos Boozer, Josh McRoberts, Jabari Parker and even Mason Plumlee before their arrival in the NBA. He was also Coach K.’s assistant with Team USA between 2006 and 2014, helping the team regain Olympic titles in 2008 and 2012.

In 2014, he finally left Duke to become a head coach at Marquette, replacing Buzz Williams. Seven seasons marked by two invitations to the “March Madness”, a record of 128 wins for 95 defeats.

Finally thanked in 2021, Steve Wojciechowski has since hoped to make the transition to coaching with the pros.

Particularly close to Quin Snyder, he settled for two years in Salt Lake City, attending Jazz training and getting closer to Will Hardy, the team’s new coach.

From now on, ESPN announces that the 46-year-old technician will take charge of the Salt Lake City Stars, the team affiliated with the Utah Jazz in the G-League. A way to make the transition between the NCAA and the NBA, like Quin Snyder who, after his departure from Missouri, before rebounding by taking charge of the Austin Toros, the team affiliated with the San Antonio Spurs in the development league.
