Steve Kerr: “You won't find better than Chris Paul and Gary Payton II in a trade”

Currently 12th in the Western Conference, the Warriors are far from direct qualification for the playoffs. For a team that was aiming for the title, it's a huge failure and one week before the trade deadline, the rumors are intensifying in San Francisco. Should we break up the “Big Three” to start a new era? Will Andrew Wiggins pack his bags? Should we get rid of the end of Chris Paul's contract?

When asked about the subject, Steve Kerr clearly doubts it, and he gave his opinion on the matter. For him, the upcoming returns of Chris Paul and Gary Payton II will be enough to fill in the gaps.

Don't you change a losing team?

“We won’t find better than these two in an exchange”he assures on the microphone of the show “ Willard & Dibs » from 95.7 The Game. “It's extremely rare that you can make a trade that allows you to improve at this level. I'm happy to have these guys back, as well as Moses [Moody]. “We've been short-handed the last two weeks, but these three guys can really help us.”

Kerr is obviously not a decision-maker, and we will see if his superiors share the same analysis. Everyone has their own job, the Golden State coach seems to say. “An exchange remains very unlikely, but that does not mean that there will not be an exchange”Kerr continues. “It’s Mike’s job [Dunleavy Jr.], it's really not something I worry about. Mike will obviously call me and let me know if anything happens. But the fact is that most of the time, not much happens. »

For Kerr, the team is on the right track, despite recent frustrating losses. “We're improving…I know we had two very tough losses this week, but I like the direction our team is going. And I appreciate the guys coming back from injuries.”
