But then, their plane had a technical problem, and they were stuck on the tarmac until… 5 a.m.! Steve Kerr, his players and the staff finally took another plane. Arriving at 6:00 a.m. in Ontario, they did not reach their hotel room until 7:00 a.m. Not ideal before facing the Raptors…
“ It was a very long night, and a very long day” sums up Stephen Currywhile Steve Kerr speaks bluntly of a “ brutal night“. “These are the worst travel conditions I have ever experienced in the NBA! I'm really proud of the guys for finding ways to get through it.” reacts the Warriors coach.
The Warriors were “asleep”
To ensure that the players get as much rest as possible, the staff decided to cancel the traditional pre-match chat in the morning. Which didn't stop the Warriors from missing the start of the match, and Steve Kerr was forced to take a timeout very quickly and yell at them. “I hate yelling at guys though. They are such good guys. They do such a good job… We really found a good rhythm. But circumstances dictated the first six minutes. I think our guys were still asleep, which is understandable. »
Thanks to Stephen Curry's 3-pointers, they will wake up, and finally win in Toronto. This is their 8th away victory in a row, and it would have been a shame to spoil this series because of a plane problem.
