Steve Kerr returns for two more seasons with the Warriors

Some said he was worn out or close to retirement. Some thought he was in danger after Golden State's poor start to the season. ESPN put an end to all these rumors, a few minutes before the start of the match between the Warriors and the Hornets, by announcing that Steve Kerr and the leaders of Golden State agreed on a two-year extension for $35 million!

Steve Kerr's contract expired at the end of this season. Starting next season, he will become the highest paid coach in the history of the league, ahead of Erik Spoelstra and Gregg Popovich.

Steve Kerr, who has led Golden State to four titles and six NBA Finals since his arrival in 2015, is indeed one of the pillars of the Warriors dynasty. His playing philosophy and his humanity have made him one of the most respected coaches in the league. This new contract, which will end in 2026, is aligned with that of Stephen Curry.

If the leader of the Warriors decides to retire at that time, Steve Kerr will have the opportunity to leave with him, to turn the most beautiful page in the history of the franchise.
