Steve Kerr Highlights James Wiseman’s Progress

After two slaps received for their passage in New York, at the Knicks then at the Nets, Steve Kerr and the Warriors are still trying to find reasons for satisfaction.

James Wiseman is part of it for the coach of the reigning champions. The interior scored 30 points at 12/14 to shoot, with 6 rebounds in 28 minutes, in Brooklyn.

“We observe the development of James and we have seen him grow, we have seen his progress in defense with Santa Cruz. We think he is making progress.”Judge Kerr for NBC Sports. “It’s a good thing for him to have minutes and to be able to gain confidence. With 30 points, we know perfectly well that he is capable of scoring. This is one more step in his journey. »

Besides his good match against Kevin Durant and the Nets, what to remember from Wiseman since his return from the G-League? In five games, he averaged 8.6 points and 3.2 rebounds in 13 minutes.

“I find that we had evidence in sequence during the road trip”, launches the coach on the defensive progress of his player. “His minutes in defense against Philadelphia were very good. I know he only played seven or eight minutes, but he does a good job on pick-and-roll, which is expected of an interior. That’s what Draymond Green does so well, to defend on the outside who has the ball, to put pressure on him. James managed to be in a good position, to make the right defensive coverages. He’s making progress, that’s for sure. »
