Steve Kerr and the Warriors close to a new deal?

Where will be Steve Kerr next season? Nobody knows, not even him since his contract is at the end of his contract, and his managers have not yet extended it. Like Klay Thompson, there is uncertainty, even if Kerr is not fundamentally worried.

“I have a great relationship with Joe (Lacob) in management, so I’m not worried about that.” has explained Kerr on the sidelines of the match against the Suns. “There is no deadline, and we could extend the contract on the last day of the season. But I’m not going to go into details…”

On the side of Joe Lacob, owner of the franchise, same serenity. “He was gone all summer, and it’s not like he was around to talk about it. We’ve had substantial negotiations with him, and I think we’re getting closer. We will see if they think as we do that we are getting closer. But I really mean it. Obviously we want Steve to stay here longer, for a longer period of time. He wants to be here. It’s the same thing. We are a family here. We like continuity in all its aspects and I think it will happen.”

“Things will get done. Give us some time”

And what about Klay Thompson as ESPN and The Athletic reported talks had stalled. Which means that Thompson will be a free agent at the end of the season, with the possibility of looking elsewhere. For Lacob, there is no reason to stress.

“We have had discussions and these things must take their course”estimates the boss of the franchise. “He has the right to do what he wants. If he wants to be a free agent, that’s his right. He deserved it. If he wants to be a Warrior for life, he will have the opportunity. This is what we want. I think he wants to be here. We want him here and we treat our people fairly. I think people just need, like I said the other day, to relax a little bit. Things will get done. Give us some time. »
