Even though these Warriors missed the playoffs, Stephen Curry will not forget this year 2024. For the first time in his career, the All-Star point guard became Olympic champion, and it was he, against Serbia and then France, who carried Team USA on his shoulders to go get this gold medal.
“We are fully involved,” Curry reminds The Athletic. “The sacrifice my family made to allow me to be fully involved. It allowed me to play basketball and have the most fun. It’s one of those moments that stays etched in your memory and in the experiences you’ve had.”
His rating for this experience? 12 out of 10!
Two-time world champion, Curry waited until he was 36 to win this Olympic gold medal. All in a magical setting and an exceptional atmosphere. “It was the most surreal feeling, especially considering how it ended. I felt like I was a kid again. As an experience, it's a 12 out of 10! Pure moments.”
Now, it's the Warriors' turn, with whom he has just extended for one more season. Here he is with a two-year window to go for a 5th title. “From my point of view, it doesn't change anything. We are sensitive to the position, the opportunity, the support of the people who have accompanied your journey,” explained the Golden State point guard. “I've always said I wanted to play for one team my whole career. So it's a good thing to put the extension issue aside and be able to focus completely on basketball and the upcoming season.”
