Stephen Curry surprised to have been left on the bench during Wolves' run

When Stephen Curry came out, four minutes from the end of the third quarter, the Warriors were +5 (70-65) on the Wolves floor. When he returned to the field, after 11 minutes of effective playing time spent on the bench, Minnesota had regained control of the match (89-97), thanks to a decisive 34-19.

“I want to play as many minutes as possible, I'm fresh and able to do it, so I'm a little surprised knowing they were making a run.” thus confirmed the Californian leader. “Our lead was slipping away. »

Stephen Curry thus finished the match with 31 points, 9/21 shooting, in just 30 minutes of playing time. Did Steve Kerr wait too long before relaunching his first offensive threat in the 4th quarter?

“If you want to say that the fact that he plays 30 minutes instead of 32 is the difference between a victory and a defeat, I do not agree at all”

“We can’t expect Steph to carry us game after game”replied the coach. “We put the burden of this franchise on him for 15 years. We can't expect him to play 35 minutes… If you want to say that the fact that he plays 30 minutes instead of 32 makes the difference between a victory and a defeat, I'm not at all 'agreement. We’re trying to win the game but we’re also trying to keep it fresh.”

Despite everything, Stephen Curry recalled that there is no absolute formula this year for the Warriors.

“I played the whole fourth quarter against Indiana and it didn't work, it didn't work either [contre Minnesota]. We need to find a happy medium.”he concludes. “The situation will resolve itself. Every game counts as we get closer to the other side of the standings, where we never thought we would be. Nobody is going to wave the white flag. If it means playing more minutes, I’ll be willing to do that.”

Because while they are barely balanced, at 36 wins for 34 defeats, the Warriors are more than ever under threat from the Rockets (35-35), who are riding a series of eight wins in a row.

And if Golden State gets overtaken by Houston, Stephen Curry and his gang won't even play the play-in…
