On the third day of the Democratic convention, the general enthusiasm does not weaken, and after Steve Kerr, it is Stephen Curry who appeared to lend his support to Kamala HarrisUnlike his coach, the leader of the Warriors and Team USA was not on site in Chicago, and he recorded a videobroadcast on the giant screens of the United Center.
“Hey everyone, Stephen Curry here! I know you all know I play for the Golden State Warriors, but it was a great honor to represent Team USA and go out there and win the gold medal at the Olympics this summer. That unity on and off the court reminded us that together, we can do anything and continue to inspire the world. That’s why I believe that Kamala, as president, could bring back that unity and continue to move our country forward. It’s about preserving hope and faith in our country, making sure that families can be taken care of in their most precious moments.”
“The Oval Office is perfect for him”
Then Curry shared an anecdote, and recalled that the Warriors and he were at the White House to celebrate their NBA championship title in 2022. “I had the opportunity to visit Kamala with my team at the White House last year and I can tell you one thing. I knew then, and I know now, that the Oval Office is a perfect fit for her. So, in the words of Michelle Obama, do something. Go vote. Get active. Let’s show up in November like never before. It was an honor to represent our country. It’s an honor to support Kamala. Let’s all do our part, and God bless us.”
Even before the Olympics, when Joe Biden withdrew, Curry had given his support to Oakland native Kamala Harris. “I hope that if she goes to the election, she will win,” had declared the MVP of the 2022 Finals. “It's very important, to say the least. She's going to represent the Bay Area, she's always supported us, so I want to give her that energy back.”
